Rico's Produce

Sourcing

Direct contracts across 10 countries and 12 domestic regions.

We buy from US growers and we import, and the two halves are what actually close the calendar. Which fruit comes from where is published here. Who grows it is commercial information that goes to your QA and buying teams under NDA.

For growers & packers

Do you grow or pack?

Two different conversations, depending on where you farm. Both start in the same place: we buy, and we take on what comes attached to the fruit.

If you grow abroad

We are your importer of record.

If you want your fruit in US retail and foodservice without standing up a US entity, a compliance program and a receivables book, that is precisely the role we fill.

  • We are the FSVP importer of record. The US regulatory obligation sits with us, not with you.
  • We finance the purchase, the freight and the duty, so you are paid on our terms.
  • We clear customs and hold the organic chain of custody as a certified handler.
  • We hold the retail and foodservice relationships, so your fruit goes into programs committed ahead of the season.

If you grow in the United States

We are a buyer and a route to market.

Domestic fruit is half our book. If you are packing more than your usual accounts can take, or you want a home for a variety before the window opens, that is a call worth having.

  • We buy for programs already committed with retail and foodservice buyers.
  • We consolidate and move the load ourselves, so a partial does not have to wait for a full truck.
  • We are in the market every day, which means a straight answer on what your fruit is worth this week.
  • Your season slots into a twelve-month calendar rather than competing with it.
