Rico's Produce

Technology

Systems that keep the paperwork from becoming the problem.

Produce is a physical business, and most of what goes wrong in it is administrative: a rekeyed order, a lapsed certificate, a lot nobody can trace. These are the systems that close those gaps.

01

EDI

We transact on EDI through iTradeNetwork

Purchase orders, order acknowledgements, advance ship notices and invoices move electronically rather than by email attachment. For a retail or distribution buyer that means your systems and ours agree on what shipped without anyone rekeying it, and a discrepancy surfaces the same day instead of at month end.

02

ERP integration

We integrate directly with customer and supplier systems

Where a partner would rather connect system to system than through a portal, we map their order and item data into ours and keep the mapping under review. Nothing is auto-created from a feed: a person confirms how an external item or account maps to ours before it affects an order, because a silently mismatched item is worse than a missing one.

03

Traceability

Lot-level traceability, one step back and one step forward

Every load is recorded against its origin, its grower and its lot. If a question arrives about a specific pallet, the answer is a lookup rather than an investigation. That is what a recall or a mock recall actually tests.

04

Food safety software

Supplier verification and documents run on purpose-built software

Our FSVP program, supplier evaluations, hazard analyses and certificate expiries are tracked in a dedicated system rather than a shared spreadsheet. Expiring documents are flagged before they lapse, and a buyer's QA team can be sent a current pack for any origin on the same day they ask for it.

Systems are a means, not the product. The reason any of this matters to a buyer is narrower than it sounds: fewer things get rekeyed, fewer documents lapse unnoticed, and questions get answered the day they are asked.
